Well I can't seem to get enough of this couple!  Today I was honoured to be featured on an amazing wedding blog Hot Pink Brides.  Head over and check out Tabitha's amazing site!

I also spent some time preparing a slideshow for Danielle - they had such a great wedding - and seeing it in a slideshow brings it all back!

XOXO

I have been itching to blog a sneak peak of this great couple since I shot their wedding last weekend.  For those of you that have had the chance to meet Danielle and Rob you can instantly feel the love that is shared between them.  It is something that so many couples search for but fail to find.  Danielle had a "Fall in Paris" theme for her wedding and did not let one detail go unnoticed.  From her beautiful flowers, to the dozens of Eiffel Towers that surrounded the reception hall everything was perfect.

We started the day tagging along with the girls getting ready at Red Bloom Salon - these girls were great!

The ceremony and the reception were held in the beautiful Hotel Arts in downtown Calgary.  I don't think I have seen a more beautiful modern venue in any place that I have shot.

After the beautiful ceremony the fun really got started.  After driving almost 30 minutes out to our initial location we found it to be a muddy mess :(  Thankfully Danielle had set aside a ton of time for photos and we got to head down to Inglewood for some great images.  Not only were the bride and groom absolutely stunning - but the wedding party wasn't too bad themselves!
The reception had to be hands down one of the funniest receptions I have had the pleasure of documenting.  Yes there were a ton of tears to go around - but besides the heartfelt speeches there were a ton of jokes, and even a breakdance kickoff to Billie Jean!  Note to self: next time I find myself in the company of this crew I need to bring my dancing Shoes!
I want to send a special thanks to my second shooter Jenn Harris who came all the way down from Fort McMurray to help me out.  She was so great and I don't know what I would have done without her!

I want to start this post by first thanking each and every one of my clients, blog and website followers for supporting me while I pursued one of my biggest dreams.  Over the last two years I have tried so many different genres of photography - I made it a point to try everything I could just to get the experience.  I have never made it a secret that my primary passion was for Wedding Photography - but I am a firm believer that all experience helps to push you forward.

When I first started out in photography I attended a great workshop by the amazing Jesh de Rox.  We spent three days with him in his home in Edmonton - and during one of my mentor sessions he explained something that has really stuck with me.  He would rather have 1 client out of 10 "love" his work.  I mean really love his work - than 7 clients "like" his work.  This 1 client would tell everyone about him - their family, their friends, even their co-workers and in doing this they were helping him to grow into an amazing photographer.  I know you are probably wondering where this is going - but over the last few months I have done a lot of thinking on where I would like my business to go. I have decided that it is time to start specializing in the few instead of the many.  I want to be a great photographer - and while I think things are coming together at a faster pace than I ever could have imagined - I feel that by doing a bit of everything I am short changing all of my sessions. Many of the photographers that inspire me the most focus on only a few areas of photography - Bob Davis, Jasmine Star, Carrie Sandoval, Jerry Ghionis, even my closest mentors Dave and Quin Cheung.  This has allowed each of them to become amazing at what they do - truly improving with every shot.  This is my goal - I want to put every ounce of passion I have into creating truly breathtaking images.

As of December 1st I am going to be taking a month off to spend some time with my family.  Following that for the 2010 season I will be focusing on just a few types of sessions.  While a limited number of family and newborn sessions will be taken for 2010 - priority will be given to weddings, engagements, trash-the-dress, and boudoir sessions.  I already have a few weddings scheduled for next year - so please contact me if you are interested in chatting about your wedding photography needs.

This decision was not easy to make as a lot of my favourite recent sessions were with families and newborns and they definitely are not gone for good.  Please stay tuned for all the great things that are happening for Leslie Brown Photography in the new year.  I've got alot of new ideas I want to get started on - and there are a few seminars that I can't wait to attend.

I want to again thank each and every client I have had for helping me get to where I am today.  Without you I wouldn't be here - and for that I am so thankful!  I would love to hear any comments and feedback as I start this new chapter in my life - and I hope that everyone supports me while I chase my dreams!

And because all posts are better with two images - here is one I took while vacationing this summer in Europe!  It was in Santorini, Greece one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

The second one is from my brother's wedding.  This had to be one of the most beautiful wedding's I've been too - and Jenn was such an amazingly beautiful bride!  I've had a lot of feedback on this image that it looks like something out of the Twillight Series - and that just gets me more excited for New Moon to come out!

XOXO

This is a great post Leslie. You are truly amazing at all that you do but it makes complete sense to follow your heart. Not only will your clients get the most out of their experiences with you but you will get more out of your passion if you are where you want to be. I wish you all the best and can't wait to see what 2010 brings for you!! I consider you one of my inspirations. :)
